Naturally Chinese will be re-opening on Wednesday, the 19th of May. This week brings a buzz of excitement after the long hiatus from dining in. You will be pleased to know that we have been working away during this time to make your dining experience with us as safe and delicious as possible. Our head chef has a tantalising range of dishes that he will be presenting in the weeks to come. We have streamlined our menu and improved on many of our dishes --making them more green friendly and allergy free, but never compromising on the taste as it should [...]

It’s formed a big part of our colour palette since we started the restaurant: the verdant greens that create the environment of Naturally Chinese restaurant make for the naturally green effect that we strive to achieve. In a similar vein, the dishes we’ve put together on the menu hold a bit of green whether in the whole dish, or just as a tantaliser to excite the palette. Each green has its own unique flavour and texture. Once you become familiar with them, you begin to fine tune your palette to knowing which vegetable pairs better with a certain dish. For instance, [...]
For the past 16 years, the second week of May has been used to highlight and improve awareness of coeliac disease and the gluten free diet. As you might know already that Coeliac disease is not an allergy or food intolerance, it is an autoimmune disease which affects 1 in 100 people in the UK. When someone with coeliac disease eats food containing gluten it causes damage to the lining of the gut, which reduces the absorption of nutrients from food and may present itself with a range of symptoms. Children and young adults with coeliac disease often feel isolated and [...]

Through thick and thin, and the amazing journey we've had so far, we celebrate our 9th anniversary this year! When I look back over the years, I'm overwhelmed by the bundle of great moments -- recollections of a bustling restaurant on Saturday nights, happy customers, the aroma of tantalising dishes. Also, the moments of challenges, fears and making it through. And here we are today, standing proud and still going after nine amazing years. Our vision from the beginning to serve food to all kinds of preferences resulted in one of our best developments – that of creating a gluten-free Chinese [...]
The beauty in nature is abundant and never short of inspiring. Just as a connection with nature is vital for our well being, so also is our connection with natural foods. The two are interconnected. At Naturally Chinese, I follow on the ethos of keeping a connection with nature, be it in the flower pots on every table to the combination of dishes that fit well together. When a natural ingredient is used, say for instance turmeric, even the colour appeals to the eye as natural and safe as compared to a synthetic food colouring. It’s simple details such as these [...]
With the onset of Spring, it makes a wonderful addition to a range of fun and flavoursome dishes to pair with light wines, even prosecco. It also is one for all seasons being great to pair with a Summer wine and deliciously comforting with a warming wine in winter. The squid fillet can be found on our appetizer/ starter section. First the hot peppery king prawns, now proceeding with an ongoing series of some of our favourite spicy chilli inspired dishes, make way for the salt and chilli squid. A traditionally Hong Kong style concoction, but inspired with the twist of Hunan [...]
Spring is just around the corner ---cherry trees blossoming and daffodils peering out waiting to bloom. It’s exciting — the change of season, and especially the change from Winter to Spring. At Naturally Chinese, we love to undertake the warming welcome of Spring with flavours to put a kick back in your step. And with Mother’s Day on the 14th of March, we look forward to serving you a special rotisserie selection. The Chinese five spices are often used as a spice rub on our rotisserie meats to give them the distinct flavour and tenderness. On our corner of rotisserie meats [...]
Women need to support other women, be ambitious for change and see the bigger picture. The 2021 campaign slogan is #ChooseToChallenge #IWD2021 — this is powerful in that as women, we need to all do our part, no matter how small or big. It all makes a difference. The day also pushes for a call to action to stand up to gender inequalities in all areas of work and life. One that is extremely important is championing for Womens’ education. It is when a women feels empowered that she can reassure her children that they are safe. She can help other women. [...]
The care that goes into food preparation affects the food we eat. At a restaurant, you know the feeling when a dish is being served to you with diligence and care. The presentation, smell, taste, texture –the entire experience should add benefit to your overall mood and leave you feeling hopefully, in an elevated state. The value for healthy, natural and unprocessed food to me, is one of the greater things to offer. It’s a struggle in today’s world as there are various factors that make it difficult to sustain. But therein lies the desire even more so, to see the [...]
