You may agree that everything tastes better with wine, and in the case of Chinese cuisine, it is certainly true. In fact, the full taste of Oriental flavours become outstanding with the periodical sip of wine. When Chinese families gather to celebrate special occasions, frequent toasting is expected and with each clink of a glass, a wish of goodness and prosperity is bestowed on the one who sips straight after. So which wine pairs well? If you are a frequent visitor at Naturally Chinese, you probably know that the house red we offer can most definitely be classed among the best to go with most of the dishes.
We carry a diverse selection and if you are not sure which one to pick, here’s a safe way to guess:
Choose a Rioja with any of our meat, lamb or duck. Go for a Pinot Grigio if choosing a scallop and vegetable, sea bass, or the chicken dishes. Chicken and Pinot grigio could possibly be made for each other. The subtle notes in the wine pair with the distinctively chicken texture and taste. And choose a glass of Chaumiere Rouge (our elegant house red) that pairs the best with our stock pots.
What makes an appetising start to your meal is pairing a plate of starter dimsum or crispy squid with a glass of prosecco. All these make the dining experience one to relish. We will be exploring more pairings in the coming posts. Let us know what your favourite wine pairing is at Naturally Chinese.
