Much of our focus at Naturally Chinese has been on sourcing ingredients as fresh as possible. I wanted to highlight some vegetarian options that we serve which are not only delicious but are especially designed to cater to a style of healthy eating and detoxification. Chinese cuisine offers a range of foods, not only the usually meat dishes like pork, beef and chicken, or seafood and fish, but even vegetarian. From zingy ginger, crunchy turnip to peppery mustard greens, the aim is to deliver the crisp flavour of these vegetables in the dishes we serve.
When we sat down to devise our menu back in April 2012, we knew we wanted to cater to people with allergies and thus our gluten free menu evolved. We also wanted to keep ‘healthy eating ‘ as a big part of our ethos. We put together a detox set menu aimed at making one feel good about what they ate whilst also cleansing. This detox menu (vegetarian) consists of:
a raw vegetable salad;
vegetable spring rolls;
pan-fried tofu seasoned with salt and chilli;
tofu and vegetable soup;
stir-fried french beans in chilli sauce;
stir-fried mixed vegetables in garlic sauce steamed rice
With no MSG, and a tasty approach to vegetarian dishes, this menu has remained a good option for any day or night of the week. Couple it with steamy hot cups of jasmine green tea and you will feel lighter and renewed!
